Thunderhead keep or Hell Precipitate. Both are deserted most of the time. The sceneries are good in both places too. Lot of places to run about.

Guys, a lot of great suggestions so far. But really, we need to keep it in a city location, not an outpost. Lions, ascalon city, kodash, kaineng, shing jea, HzH, cavalon, henge, places like those. they support a much larger population, and staffing wont be as difficult, and people won't be left out of the loop like last time.

Also, yes, we need TONS of alcohol! Start collecting now for donations, that is the MAIN thing we need. Alcohol is what oktoberfest is all about, particularly beer/ale. wine is big also. sweets will be another biggy, so any cupcakes, sugary blue drinks, red bean cakes, etc you can scratch up will be great also! I am going ALL out for this event, spending most of my gold that I have farmed in the last month and leading up to the event, as well as cashing in all my celestial sigils from winning hoh on my pvp account. in addition, i am going to cash out my ecto reserves (what little is left) for it. any and all donations whether in party item form or gold/rare mats will be extremely appreciated.

I was thinking of an oktoberfest Hide-n-Seek. This would be on the same grounds as the easter egg hunt that has been hosted a few times now. Find the people, they give you a particular item, you turn in the items for a prize. if you have them all that is. whatcha think?

Another idea that has popped into my head was inspired from Nightfall. A group of 4 people sign up for the reenactment contest. in this contest, you will reenact a scene from prophecies, factions, or nightfall cutscene. the most well acted/scripted/humorous reenact wins a group shared prize. Again, comments?

Any other fun ideas are very much welcomed!

And wow, this thread already has a LOT of feedback. looks like a good sign Oktoberfest is gonna be big. yeh!

I'm thinking most of the major outposts would be a bad idea, especially in the int. districts because of the number of spammers that would likely be there. By that I mean places like LA, Kamadan, KC, Ascalon City.

For this one, House zu Heltzer has my vote. It's got that 'grand hall' feel to it that can very easily be lit up by fireworks in celebration, and even has it's own little outdoor area that's as close to a patio as you can get in GW.

Rahja the Thief,
A while ago my guild played a treasure hunt game using customised items.
Just something to think about, for your hide-go-seek idea.

Every thought of adding a PvP element in to your events?
but make it something different, like a dodgeball tourny.

yes, i most certainly have. was pondering a hall of heroes concept, as well as a gvg unrated tournament. but, gotta remember that for each event comes a staffing cost, time investment, and book keeping. if i spread myself too thin, all of the events planned will be lack luster and suffer. i don't want that to happen.

Thank you for organizing another party, I look forward to it with great gusto. If you need any help I'd be happy to help in any way you need; Staff, Scout or anything else you would want me to do.

I'll Spend the next few months seeing what I can scrounge up to donate, definately as many beverages as I can get. I would say that a city that doesn't get very much traffic would be wanted; Henge of Denravi, Cavalon, and I expect that House Zu Heltzer (never been there myself) might work best becuase there's a lack of LFG/WTS people, and probably not a lot of bots. Kind of like that one bot we had at serenity at the last party that answered "ummmm... 9" to everything, hehe. I'd only suggest Denravi simply becuase there is absolutely no one there, and it does have the nice amphitheatre. And the poor city deserves to have a few happy people in it... it's been waiting for a long time.

And the Hide and seek idea sounds superb; if I can come up with anything I'll post here.

*my, don't I sound like a wannabe*

Also tell the "bot" that i still have his mask, or possibly your mask - I have SOMEONES mask....

If a poll is wanted, I would be happy to set one up.

Rahja, how will the alcohol and sweets donations be handled? Should we keep what we have for now and donate later or what? I have some that I'd be happy to offload.

If I can be of any help, please PM me here at the forum and I'll see what I can do.

Henge of Denravi - its a pretty big place where there aren't alot of people there these days. It would be ideal to hold an event there.

I continue to support Denravi. However, whatever decision, it is best if it is located in Tyria for some reasons:

1) If you don't own Prophecies, FOR SHAME! I have a feeling Tyria is more accessible.
2) House Zu Heltzer is a good idea, but admittedly due to alliance/faction limitations and whatnot, may not be that good.

Awesome, Oktoberfest. Ich wähle für House zu Heltzer wegen es ist Feuerwerke und Größe.

In englisch, I vote for HzH because of it's fireworks and size. that or Henge.

EDIT: Just having looked around for possible places, I'd say Henge is my favorite in all campaigns. Has a great size, amphitheater, and that place with the 3 collectors is awesome with the waterfalls and what-not. If we do choose Henge, are we going to have runners again? It's pretty far, but if you do need runners, sign me up.

My vote is currently for Denravi.

Further, an idea for a competition - Dodgeball
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Dodgeball_%28scrimmage%29

Or, on the off chance that ArenaNet will provide "official" support this time, something along the lines of the Dragon Festival.

I'll talk to you more ingame about how this might be setup.
